Applications are open for our Youth Climate Policy Program

Program outcomes for the first iteration of the fellowship program, which launched in 2023.

We’re launching our second cohort of the California Youth Climate Policy (CYCP) Program, and applications are now open! CYCP empowers high school students to take climate action into their own hands. During the program, students participate in a summer retreat and monthly workshops that focus on foundational knowledge and skill-building activities related to environmental and climate action. Students then apply their knowledge and skills leading a campaign to pass climate policies (or build on existing policies) in their school or district.

Students receive mentoring from adult coaches and support in developing a personal leadership plan and advocacy campaign. And, they receive a $500 stipend upon completion of the program. Incoming 9-12th graders should apply by May 27th. Please share this information with young people in your network, or email us with nominations.

We are also looking for mentors to provide coaching and support to our young leaders. If you're interested in serving as a mentor for this program, please fill out an interest form.
