Support for Inclusion of Schools in the Climate Bill

We are advocating that lawmakers advance climate policy in a key and powerful sector for transformative leadership — our public school buildings.

Senator Comerford’s proposal for Green and Healthy Schools is the solid foundation on which to build our efforts. The language, which was included as Sec. 64 of S.2842 would align key state agencies around recommendations for standards to implement green and healthy schools.

There is no time to waste. We encourage lawmakers to include schools in this year’s omnibus climate legislation.
